Nowadays, the way film posters are displayed has changed. Items of clothing (primarily T-shirts) are able to have all sorts printed onto them, including film posters. For example, the images below are of the film poster for "Indiana Jones: Raiders of the Lost Ark", both the original and when applied to a t-shirt.
This essentially allows for the poster to be displayed whenever someone wears it, promoting the film even more.
As well as t-shirts, people are able to by posters to put up in and around their homes. Copies of those found at cinemas are popular to have up on walls in bedrooms, on doors, etc.
